Graham Davies

Graham has more than 30 years’ experience as a non-executive director on sugar boards, various companies and co-operatives. He held the position of chairman of the Mackay Sugar Cooperative for 14 years. Currently, Graham is the chairman of the Queensland Rural Adjustment Authority. Graham owns and operates sugar farms in the Mackay and Burdekin districts and has a cattle property in the Mackay District Hinterland. He is also a board director with the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland.

Robynne Dudley

Robynne has strong ties with the Mackay business community and is a partner with Shepherd and Dudley Chartered Accountants. She has been an accountant for more than 30 years. Robynne is also the treasurer of the Mackay Friends of the Theatre. Robynne will assume the role of Deputy Chair of the MPA from July 1 2006.

A chartered accountant with more that 20 years’ experience in business services and accountancy Peter also has a solid grasp of local issues and is involved in a number of community organisations.

Laurie Horgan

Laurie has extensive experience in shipping and has held various positions with the Maritime Union of Australia – representing the International Transport Federation for 34 years. He has strong knowledge of stevedoring operation and infrastructure within the Port of Mackay. Laurie is also the honorary branch secretary of the North Queensland branch of the Maritime Union of Australia and a member of the executive board of the Stella Marist Seafarers’ Centre.

Mark Williamson

Mark brings to the Board a wealth of experience in the aviation industry. Over the past 25 years Mark has held senior roles in marketing, sales and management covering a range of industries including airlines, telecommunications, IT and electricity. He currently holds board positions with Stanwell Corporation and the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Steve Golding

Steve has had a long and distinguished career with the Queensland Department of Main Roads. From 1970 to his retirement in March 2005, Steve held a number of key management positions and in July 2000 was appointed Director- General of Main Roads. Steve is active in four professional associations including a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (Australia) and has served on a number of panels and committees. He has enjoyed a long career in the Army Reserve enlisting as a private soldier in the Queensland University Regiment in 1963. For outstanding service to the Army Reserve he was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia in June 1998.

John Raby

John Raby

John has extensive aviation experience covering flying, training and management. Over more than 24 years with Ansett he served as a first officer and captain on most aircraft types, and progressed through various management positions, culminating in an appointment to the position of flight training manager. In 2000, he was appointed as the foundation head of flight operations for Virgin Blue and retired from Virgin Blue June 30 2005. John is a Member of the Aviation Safety Forum – a special consultative body helping the aviation community and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority work effectively together to improve aviation safety in Australia.
