The Mackay Port Authority owns and operates the sea and air ports of the regional Queensland centre of Mackay. The seaport is predominantly a bulk cargo port and is Queensland's fourth busiest in terms of cargo throughput. The Mackay airport is regional Australia's eighth busiest. That the airport and seaport are successful operations is essential to the sustainable development of the economic resources of local, regional and national communities.
