The new undercover security car park at Mackay Airport is now fully operational.
The Mackay Port Authority has spent more than $2 million over of the past 12 months improving car parking facilities at our award winning Airport.
The undercover security parking boasts 67 spaces. Payment can be made by Bankcard, American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Diner's Club. The facility does not accept cash.
Charges are calculated on a 24 hour block. For example if you book in at 6am you will not incur an additional daily fee until after 6am the following day. Additional fees will apply after every 24 hour period.
The security car park is fully automated enabling motorists to park and remove vehicles at their leisure.
The MPA has acknowledged the need to continue to improve and expand car parking facilities at the Airport. Planning is underway to further increase parking by 163 spaces.
Work on the second stage of the Airport car park upgrade is expected to be completed by late 2005

The airport parking area has approximately 250 bays where passengers can
leave their cars at their own risk at no charge while they travel. This
area is monitored and recorded 24 hours a day by Close Circuit Television
units
Five major car hire firms, Avis, Hertz, Budget, Delta/Europcar and Thrifty
operate hire booths in the airport terminal. In general, the booths are
staffed during RPT jet arrival and departure periods:
