Mackay Port Authority’s environmental manger Scott Keane is itching to pack his bags for a four week Rotary Study Exchange to the United States.

MPA environmental manager Scott Keane is looking forward to a four week Rotary study tour to the United States.

Mr Keane, 35, will be one of four candidates from the Central Queensland Rotary District to participate in the vocational tour to Philadelphia.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity,” Mr Keane said.” I’m very eager to have a look at the air and sea ports in Philadelphia and the ports of New York and New Jersey.

“My ultimate goal is to be able to use the information and processes I encounter overseas when I return home to Mackay.

“I’m interested in not only environmental aspects, but in the way they run their businesses and their commercial focus – basically what makes them tick.”

Mr Keane will jet out of Mackay in April and will be billeted with host families while in the US.
