Port Advisory Committee
The Port Advisory Committee is comprised of major commercial users of the Port.
This committee meets approximately each two months to discuss commercial and safety issues within the seaport precinct and address key issues such as:
• emergent and continuing issues affecting port operations;
• port services;
• long term planning;
• and major projects.

The following principles operate:
• a Port Authority Board member and Mackay Port Authority senior officers attend the PAC meetings at the invitation of the committee;
• the agenda for the PAC is determined by user members with provision for the Authority to include items for discussion;
• the PAC determines the extent to which wide consultation is necessary;
• the PAC has no formal powers in the final decision making of the Port Authority;
• and a report from the PAC is included as an agenda item at the subsequent Port Authority Board Meeting.
